What a great and inspiring story! I know how you feel Melissa, because for the last few months, i have retaken control of my life, my health and my self-esteem! :) I have always been overweight, ever since i was a little girl. Trying to shed pounds has been my life battle, but i have to admit, most of the time i was not even trying. I always told myself 'As long as i don't go over 200lbs, i'm not too bad'. Well, guess what? For the last 5-6 years, i have, at my worst, reached 240lbs! Problems with BP, feet swelling, shortness of breath made me finally realize that i had to change my habits. I took small steps. In April, i started taking zumba classes twice a week. In June, i started walking 30 minutes on the treadmill 2-3 times a week on top of the zumba. By that time, i hadn't made major changes in my eating habits yet, but had lost 10lbs. But in July, a friend talked to me about a simple website called 'www.loseit.com' which is kind of like a Facebook for dieters where you can set a weight loss goal, record the calories you eat and the exercise you do every day. Now, 2 months later, i'm down another 15lbs and so proud of myself. I'm still doing zumba twice a week and nearly every other day, i do 1 hour of treadmill (with incline) and some pilates. I know i still have a looooong way to go, but it's not the destination that is important, it's the journey! :)

Melissa,
You look awesome. Can't wait to see you on Thursday! I think WW is calling me thru my friends. Have another friend who's lost 90lbs on WW. I'm "team teaching" Chronic Disease Self Management Classes" with (of all things) a WW instructor. She's and my friends stories are inspiring me to do something...soon.

Oh thank you so much for sharing this, I signed up for WW many weeks ago and broke my foot 1 week later...I pulled out all the info and will do my best to get back to attending and following the program.I only need to lose 30 pounds.
I so appreciate you sharing your journey, I am so proud of you...Congratulations

Pamela

*Hugs* to you, Melissa. Your daughters need their mom to be healthy and keep up with them. You have done it for them as well as yourself. You cannot take care of others unless you look after yourself first. Thank you so much for sharing your story, I know it was difficult for you. You are a blessing.
*Smiles*

I'm not sure exactly why but this weblog is loading incredibly slow for me. Is anyone else having this problem or is it a problem on my end? I'll check back later on and see if the problem still exists.

Heey there would you mind sharinmg which blog platform you're working with? I'm looking to start my own blog soon but I'm having a tough time making a decision between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I'm looking for something unique. P.S Apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask!
